How I Achieved A Healthy Smile & Saved My Gut

img_0188It’s been a while since I’ve posted an article…So here we go to play some “catch-up” 🙂

This post is directed towards dental work. There’s so much information to share! I can only share with you what I have experienced, and what I have learned throughout my course and time in this this field of specialty.

There are many factors that contribute to healthy dental work, and many factors that contribute to poor dental work.

The unfortunate fact is that most of the time… we’re undergoing poor dental work, which can contribute to long term damage.

Dental protocol’s today typically involve highly toxic dental materials, toxic anesthetics, and antibiotic use that suppress/ cover sites of infection within the tooth, destroy beneficial bacteria in the gut, in addition to creating many negative cascades in the body.

Most dental procedures include the use of toxic materials, which are considered to be the standard of dental care.  Unfortunately, these materials that are most commonly used are considered “foreign” to the human body. These are considered contaminants.

Whatever stage of life you are in, you’ve probably undergone some form of dental work…

Just like everything else, when we’re in a dental situation, we need IMMEDIATE assistance, especially if there’s horrible pain involved. Unfortunately, these situations can lead to a dental decision that does not benefit the body.

If you have enough time to plan your appointment, and do not need one on an emergency basis, then you’ll give your body enough time to prepare, nutritionally!

The nervous system becomes highly stressed and can often exhaust itself if it has not been supported with quality nutrition in preparation for this type of body trauma…

I’m going to use this article space to share my personal experience with my most recent dental work; how I have prepared my body before undergoing tooth extractions, and how I am taking care of it after dental extractions.

I have chosen to avoid all conventional health practices in order to respect and care for all of the work I have put forth into restoring my health. I have spent COUNTLESS hours in nurturing my body in order to restore it from the abuse it’s undergone through consuming poor quality foods and previous antibiotic use during childhood.

I definitely had NO intentions to trash the work I’ve done to enhance my health over the past 5 years.

I’ve spent many years (15 to be exact)  with the hidden stress of the infection occurring in my mouth, day in and day out, sometimes pain in the night, and sometimes the taste of infection, even.

Gross to say, but its the truth. When the taste of infection became a frequent event, to a daily event, I knew my dental situation had became a much larger issue, which just created more stress in the back of my mind.

In order for me to begin this tooth extraction process, there was one major thing I needed to do.


I would have loved to extract my teeth prior to having my fillings removed since they were quite the chronic issue I was focused on.

However, as much as the dental infection was creating great stress in my conscious and subconscious mind, along with my physical/ emotional body, the mercury fillings were creating an even greater stress by gassing mercury in my mouth & tissue as they were inhaled on a daily basis, interfacing my nervous system with heavy metal intoxication, decreasing my body’s acid/alakine ratio (pH), and inhibiting full immune strength to fight infection.

We all struggle with these challenges when we have these materials in the mouth.

Mercury vapor given off by amalgam fillings accumulates in the teeth, tooth roots, gums, jawbone, and oral tissue. The number of amalgam surfaces has a statistically significant correlation to the level of mercury in oral mucosa and saliva. The amount of mercury in saliva averaged between 1.5 to 1.9 micrograms per liter for each amalgam filling.

Toxic/allergic reactions to toxic metals such as mercury/amalgam often result in autoimmune conditions such as lichen planus lesions in oral mucosa or gums, eczema, pustulosis, dermatitis and play a role in pathogenesis of periodontal disease. A high percentage of patients with oral mucosal problems along with other autoimmune problems such as chronic fatigue (CFS) have significant immune reactions to mercury, palladium, gold, and nickel. 94% of such patients had significant immune reactions to inorganic mercury (MELISA test), and 72% had immune reactions to low concentrations of HgCl2 (0.5 ug/ml). 61% also had immune reaction to phenylHg, which has been commonly used in root canals and cosmetics. Removal of amalgam fillings usually results in cure of such lesions. Patients with other systemic neurological or immune symptoms such as arthritis, myalgia, eczema, CFS, MS, diabetes, etc. also often recover after amalgam replacement. 10% of controls had significant immune reactions to HgCl and 8.3% to palladium.


So with all of this, I HAD to have my silver fillings removed FIRST.

You see those dingy yellow/ brown colored spots? This is NOT uncommon. This is evidence of decay that had taken place BELOW my silver fillings for as long as I had them. Trapping even more infection…for 15 years!

So, with this completion…

It came time to “get er done!”

2 months later, the time came to remove my two teeth. My wisdom tooth #32, and its neighbor, tooth #31.

There were preparations and precautions to evaluate before having these teeth removed.

The original plan was to remove a total of three, actually. However, there was a quick turn in this events after having a 3d digital X-ray done ( extremely low EMF exposure).

The third tooth to be removed was put on hold for extraction as it is lodged in my sinus from an abscessed root canal.

The tooth removal of this tooth would have been much too risky with great potential infection and sinus collapse if we had moved forward with it.

Let me just say I am so grateful for my Dentist. He is THE man, THE best, and incredibly passionate about what he does. If you’re looking to have work done, I HIGHLY recommend their office to all of my clients.

He’s a Biodentist, and uses the least toxic materials available when it comes to anything dental.

He uses a local anesthetic called Septocaine, which is the lesser evil between the available anesthetic options.

What is most commonly used in dental practice? LIDOCAINE.

Numbing agents like Lidocaine are EXTREMELY toxic to the human body.

In 1997, a conducted study was able to prove that 1cc of 2% Lidocaine is equivalent to smoking 84,000 cigarettes. 67% of Licodaine converts to aniline, which is commonly known as “coal tar derivatives” and have been found to be cancer causing back to the 19th century. Anilines are the main carcinogen found in tobacco.


Isn’t that crazy?!

As of now, the least toxic local anesthetic is Septotaine. Septocaine DOES NOT break down into aniline. This is the safest local anesthetic to use when going in for dental work. Now, not all dentists use this. Biological dentists who focus on non-toxic dentistry will most definitely have this available for you as a safer option.

Here’s the problem. We have known for over a hundred years that aniline compounds cause cancer. Local anesthetics have always been thought to be safe because it was assumed that their molecules were excreted from the body unchanged. A study done 20 years ago recovered 10% of injected lidocaine completely unchanged in the urine. The molecules were coming out the same way they went in. This was seen as proof of safety. Unfortunately, no one bothered to ask where the other 90% was. Now we know!


With this being said, and with the wide array of information within the dental field, aside from a local anesthetic, the administration of antibiotics is a common practice.

Dentists do not want to work in a mouth with infected blood. Not only for the patients health, but for their own as well. Understandable 🙂

However, it is not mandatory to take prescribed antibiotics, thankfully. It is highly recommended, as a legality.

How can this procedure be done without taking prescribed antibiotics?

I am going to use this article to share my own personal experience with you in how I have incorporated a natural approach in preparation for dental extraction, and how I took care of my post extraction sites without the use of medication.

Let me be very clear that I AM NOT encouraging you to go against any of your Doctor’s or Dentist’s advice.

I am simply sharing my personal story with research I have sourced.

Do what you want with it.


In preparation for the sequences of dental work I knew I would need to face, I spent the past year in full dedication towards achieving the goals below:


♦ Achieve & maintain an oil free lifestyle

♦ Support my body with healthy bacteria through fermented foods

♦ Support my body with antibacterial, antiviral, and anti fungal herbs

♦ Remove my silver fillings

♦ Extract teeth

♦ Enforce post dental extraction protocol

      ♦ Be pain free!

Within the past year, I have achieved the above tasks 🙂

I have eliminated all processed oils completely from my diet, increased the amount of fermented foods I ate, increased the use of restorative herbs and spices within my foods and in supplements, which have been scientifically noted to address infection in the body.

After I took the leap of drastically changing my lifestyle even further than before, I knew I’d be ready in a year’s time.

As standard protocol, I was notified by my dentist that I’d need to use some form of antibiotics to control my infection before going in to have the big work done. I let him know that I do not use them by prescription, but I would use them from their natural plant sources.

In the situation of needing to be placed on antibiotics pre or post dental work, I knew there were healthier options available that have been shown to be just as effective, and even more so!

I chose NOT to take such bombs to my gut as I have worked very intensively to restore and strengthen my little gut army over the past 5 years 🙂

Fast forward to current day…

I have just had 2 teeth extracted on the same side. One, an impacted wisdom tooth ( #32 ) and the molar that sits next to it, tooth #31. These two teeth were pocketing bacterial infection for 15 years…

With two teeth that were to be extracted, there were many concerns for potential infection without the use of prescription antibiotics due to the amount of infection that was living in my tissue.

I took a different approach with using nature’s own antibiotics. 🙂

Here’s what what I used for prep and post extraction 🙂

The health benefits of Hyssop Essential Oil can be attributed to its properties as an astringent, stimulant, anti-Spasmodic, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, carminative, cicatrisant, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, hypertensive, nervine, sudorific, tonic, febrifuge, vermifuge and vulnerary substance.

Astringent: The function of an astringent is to contract or cause something to shrink. Hyssop essential oil, being an astringent, makes the gums, muscles and limbs, abdomen, intestines, skin, tissues and blood vessels to contract. This can help you in many ways. This can prevent muscles and skin from sagging down due to age, loosening or loss of teeth, wrinkles, and hemorrhaging, all by quickly contracting the blood vessels.


Hyssop is also known for its fantastic blood purification 🙂 When dealing with infections, you want to clean the blood as much as possible.

Olive Leaf

Olive Leaf (Oleuropein) kills bacteria and blocks the entire virus-specific system.

Oleuropein, the key nutrient, is most concentrated in the leaves than any other part of the plant. Olive leaves are rich in phytonutrients and antioxidants, of which – oleuropein and hydroxytyrosol are bioactive. Other bitter phytonutrient compounds in olive leaves – caffeic acid and verbascoside – work together to resist bacterial damage.

To exert its anti-bacterial effect, oleuropein breaks down to elenolic acid that exhibits antibacterial action. However, oleuropein takes a different mechanism for its antiviral action. The unique antiviral mechanism is that it interferes with protein production of the viruses – which is critical for its survival. In addition, it also enters the viral cell and blocks its replication.

Researchers have found that allicin is an effective natural “antibiotic” that can eradicate even antibiotic-resistant bugs. An added benefit is that the bacteria appear incapable of developing a resistance to the compound. However, the garlic must be fresh because the active agent is destroyed in less than an hour after smashing the garlic clove.

Garlic technically does not contain allicin, but rather, it contains two agents in separate compartments of the clove that react to form the sulfur-rich compound allicin when the plant needs it: alliin and an enzyme called allinase. So, what makes them react?

Garlic has a robust defense system to protect itself from insects and fungi. It enzymatically produces allicin within seconds when it is injured. The crushing of its tissues causes a chemical reaction between the alliin and the allinase, and allicin is produced—nature’s “insecticide.” This is what makes garlic such a potent anti-infective, as well as what produces that pungent aroma when you cut into it.

But allicin is short-lived, lasting less than an hour. Therefore, cooking, aging, crushing, and otherwise processing garlic causes allicin to immediately break down into other compounds, so it’s difficult to get allicin up to biologically active levels in your body.

Propolis extract has a number of well known therapeutic properties, including potent antioxidant and anti-microbial action, and healing, analgesic, anesthetic, and anti-inflammatory properties.

It’s been used for thousands of years in folk medicine.

Previously, bee propolis has been found to prevent the formation of dental plaque by inhibiting the activity of certain enzymes that synthesize glucans from sucrose. Propolis, along with other bee products, has also been studied for its potential to control tumor growth, with some success.


Propolis has been shown to increase the effects of other antibiotics like penicillin and can also strengthen the immune system. Studies are now being done to see if propolis can become an effective treatment for the prevention of certain types of cancer.


Oregano Oil


Origanum vulgare contains 41 antibacterial elements, 31 anti-inflammatory elements, 26 antiviral elements, 26 antifungal elements and 6 antiparasitic elements effective against MRSA, PseudomonasStaphylococcus, colds, influenza, athlete’s foot, Candida and internal parasites. It includes 22 antiseptic elements that provide relief for bites, abrasions and sore throats. In addition, it contains 28 antioxidant and 6 immunostimulant elements, which are important in preventing disease, and 4 COX-2 inhibitor elements, which have an anti-inflammatory effect for brain function.


Carvacrol, thymol and the many other volatile compounds that can be distilled from the oregano plant inhibit the growth of bacteria, which makes them powerful alternatives to antibiotics. In 2010, researchers presenting at the International Symposium on Animal Genomics for Animal Health concluded oregano oil’s antibiotic potency was such that it may provide “drug-free alternative strategies for disease control for poultry infectious diseases.”

While oregano oil does provide what some call a more natural alternative to antibiotics, bacterial infections can still develop resistance to it, Dazey said.

“We’ve already made resistant bacteria to those more natural and safer alternatives to antibiotics,” Dazey said. “So my strategy when it comes to oregano oil is use it as one part of a strategy. If you’re going to be using oregano oil, use that for about a week. Then make sure you use something different, like thyme oil, for a week, and then something different like lavender oil for a week. That way the 1 percent [of bacteria] that wasn’t susceptible to the oregano oil will be susceptible to perhaps the next agent that you try.”

Like conventional antibiotics, oil of oregano may also kill off healthy bacteria in the body, which leaves the immune system vulnerable.

“You always, always, always want to get probiotics,” Dazey said. “No matter what you do, as far as an antibacterial agent, you need to make sure you do probiotics.”


Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is derived from the leaves of Melaleuca alternifolia, which is a native tree of Australia, and throughout history it has been used to treat such things as healing skin cuts, treating burns, and as a topical for infections by crushing the leaves and applying them to the affected area.  This is due to its three remarkable properties that make it a powerful healing substance:

It is a strong organic solvent that dissolves the lumps of white blood cells that make pus.  This allows your blood stream to clean them away helping to clear infections like boils, sores and ulcers.

It is an efficient antiseptic that kills bacteria fast. This is especially important for gum disease sufferers since we know that it’s caused by plaque, which is a bacteria.  What’s most important, though, is that tea tree oil kills bacteria even more effectively in living tissue than in the test tube, which is unlike most other synthetic antiseptics out there. (You’re alive.  The tissue in your mouth is alive. So why not use a treatment that works most effectively on living tissue?) 

Best of all, it is soothing on application and eases away pain you may have on your gums.

Coffee Enemas



This may seem like an area you have no intention of going near. However, it has been a major facilitator to the great progress of all of this!

There is no doubt that when the body is dealing with infection, the body is considered to be toxic. When the body is faced with any type of medication, anesthetic, or heavy metals, this also adds to its toxic load. In today’s world, whose body isn’t toxic, really?

Dr. Max Gerson used this clinically as part of a general detoxification regimen, first for tuberculosis, then cancer. Caffeine, he postulated, will travel up the hemorrhoidal to the portal vein and thence to the liver itself. Gerson noted some remarkable effects of this procedure. For instance, patients could dispense with all pain-killers once on the enemas. Many people have noted the paradoxical calming effect of coffee enemas.

And while coffee enemas can relieve constipation, Gerson cautioned: “Patients have to know that the coffee enemas are not given for the function of the intestines but for the stimulation of the liver.”

Coffee enemas were an established part of medical practice when Dr. Max Gerson introduced them into cancer therapy in the 1930s. Based on German laboratory work, Gerson believed that caffeine could stimulate the liver and gallbladder to discharge bile. He felt this process could contribute to the health of the cancer patient. Although the coffee enema has been heaped with scorn, there has been some independent scientific work that gives credence to this concept. In 1981, for instance, Dr. Lee Wattenberg and his colleagues were able to show that substances found in coffee — kahweol and cafestol palmitate —promote the activity of a key enzyme system, glutathione S-transferase, above the norm. This system detoxifies a vast array of electrophiles from the blood- stream and, according to Gar Hildenbrand of the Gerson Institute, “must be regarded as an important mechanism for carcinogen detoxification.” This enzyme group is responsible for neutralizing free radicals, harmful chemicals now commonly implicated in the initiation of cancer. In mice, for example, these systems are enhanced 600% in the liver and 700% in the bowel when coffee beans are added to the mice’s diet.

When the body is faced with toxins on a daily basis, the liver and gallbladder unfortunately suffer the burden of filtering through the sludge, moving into overtime.

When the body is fighting infection, the demand of the liver and gallbladder begin to suffer even greater! With the great benefits coffee enemas have to offer the liver, gallbladder, and blood through its facilitating blood purification, coffee enemas were a must!

Fermented foods, fermented drinks (non-alcoholic), and probiotic supplements were  taken after each coffee enema

Pre Extraction ( 5 days  )

I began dosing with Oregano oil. 3 filled veggie caps a day along with hyssop, olive leaf, propolis,  turmeric, and allicin.

It was time to begin concentrated dosing with herbs and formulas that are shown to address infection and bacteria in the body.


Post Extraction

With no pain killers after the extraction, the Septocaine began to wear off two hours after. This led to a deep subtle pounding in my mouth that was most definitely uncomfortable, even with tears. However my mindset remains as “No pain no gain.”

To address this, clove oil and arnica came in great hands to numb the area out.

Right after leaving the dental office, I was taken to sprouts to pick up these items because I had completely forgotten these essentials at home. It was a long drive to get back home, so I needed to be prepared just in case!

Not thinking, I walked into Sprouts market (stimulating my circulation to pump) and was attempting to speak to the  staff member as my lower lip began to fill with blood! You know…since my teeth were taken out of the the bone and gum tissue was freshly open… I probably looked crazy!

I had to carefully walk back to the car and replace my gauze in the open socket.

I used a Q-tip carefully around the gum area with clove oil after rinsing my mouth out with water.

Arnica cream was rubbed on the outside of my cheeks, right next to the area of where the teeth were removed.

Step by step, Day by day

A few hours after the extractions, I filled my mouth with warm water and pink salt. I allowed the salt water to sit over the wound for a minute.

This same process was followed with warm water and tea tree oil to disinfect my mouth.

At this point, I did not swish abruptly as this was the time I wanted a blood clot to form in the open wound. Just a simple “slosh.”

The very next morning, I still brushed my teeth with my non toxic tooth paste (I need to post the recipe already, I know! Ayurvedic toothpastes are a great alternative option).

If you do not make your own (like most people) then you’ll want to make sure you’re using a natural one. I love Ayurvedic tooth paste options that are completely chemical free.

I added 3 drops of tea tree oil on my tooth brush every time I brushed for antiseptic purposes.

I did NOT brush over the wound. I brushed as normal on the opposing mouth-side of the dental extractions, & on the top and bottom front teeth. Brushing on the same as the dental extraction was left to a minimum to prevent pushing any additional bacteria into the wound.

Also, I did not floss on the side of my dental work. Not top nor bottom, in order to prevent bacterial contamination.

Next, I gently sloshed with warm pink salt water again.

After sloshing with salt water, I sipped more warm salt water into to my mouth with 5 drops of tea tree oil.

After a gentle slosh with tea tree, I let the solution sit over and submerge the wound. It was very easy to feel the wound was being disinfected. No stinging at all, just a localized menthol freshness 🙂

I repeated this process of salt and tea tree oil in the mouth every time I ate, and about every 2 hours for the first 7 days.

In this writing line moment, I am currently halfway through day three of dental recovery. The tissue in the open wound is fully regenerating new tissue as it’s creating a barrier for protection.

BTW, the first 2-3  days included extreme rest.

I am moving slowly to keep my heart rate low and normal, and sleeping at an elevated level to prevent any pulsing and throbbing in the tooth extraction area.

No heavy lifting, no crazy increases in blood pressure, and definitely no working out to prevent a bleeding episode. No working out extended to a total of 2 weeks, really. Which was quite the mental and emotional struggle to surrender to this part of the process 😉

ANY form of harmful bacteria or reoccurring bleeding in the mouth could have  potentially reinfected the area and prevent the growth of new tissue. So, extra precautions for healthy progress 🙂

On the 2nd day, my open wound developed GREAT clot formation. This was perfect, and was ideally what I wanted to create a barrier of protection from any raw tissue to prevent infection.

With the newly established gum tissue, on day 3, I was able to introduce Oregano oil as an oral application and topical antibiotic.

For this, I began with a gentle slosh of warm salt water and 3 drops of oregano oil.

Oregano oil burns…So, diluting it with the salt water helped. It typically burns when it’s faced with harmful bacteria. With the tissue barrier that was created, the oregano DID NOT burn my wound. It just stimulated salivation and heat through the remainder of my mouth.

I DID NOT use oregano in my mouth until there was a noticeable tissue barrier over the raw tissue wound!

With the oregano wash, I submerged the wound as it worked its antibacterial magic 🙂 It sat for as long as I could take the burn and increased salivation.

After this, I wanted to take it a little further. I dropped oregano oil directly over the entire wound. I only did this because there was regrown tissue covering most of the raw tissue. Yes, it burned a little bit around other areas of the mouth, but not on the wound itself.

I also used a Q-tip to gently dab oregano oil around the wound tissue.

The burn was worth it in order to avoid any dry socket!

I let the oil sit on there for about 45 seconds. Naturally, my mouth overly salivated. So, I just tilted my head forward to let the saliva drain out of my mouth. Any type of pursing of the lips or additional suction could loosen the newly grown tissue, so i did my best to avoid from these mouth movements.

I rinsed the front of my mouth with the warm salt water to alleviate burning and kept the oregano sitting in the back where the open socket was.

I repeated this gentle washing process with salt, tea tree, and oregano every two hours from day 3-day 7.

It may seem time consuming, but I promise you it was worth saving gut bacteria without the use antibiotics!

Not to mention saving my liver…

On the 4th day post extraction, I began coffee enemas in order to facilitate a cleaner, faster, and much more efficient detoxification process. They also helped to alleviate any type of residual pain or discomfort.


The liver and gallbladder can become highly bombarded when battling infection. They interface with toxic burdens and are responsible for filtering/ cleaning the blood and dispersing the body’s natural disinfectant, bile.

With lesser burdens on these critically important organs, the body has the ability to recover at a greater rate.

Gentle sloshing, swishing, coffee enemas, and clean eating has been maintained throughout the entire post extraction phase for the past 2 weeks, as I have just surpassed the 2 week mark 🙂

I would have loved to have began coffee enemas on the first full day after dental work, but the pressure would have ruptured and reopened the fresh clot in the socket.

Right now, as I have continued to make edits and elaborate into further detail, I have just surpassed my first two weeks into my new lease on life!

My open wound is sealing up with fresh new tissue 🙂

Coffee enemas have been SUPER successful, ridding a ton of hidden infection, with details I will be kind enough to leave out 🙂


3 Weeks Post Extraction


I have continued all discussed action steps listed above, and I am still doing coffee enemas every other day, sometimes with 2 days in between to keep my system happy, clean, and dental infection free.

Amazing to see the creatures that come out of the body when there have been no processed oils in the diet for over a year. Quite the comparison before going oil free! I’d show you photos, but they may be quite volatile for you…

My energy has greatly increased, I am no longer waking up with puffy eyes, I am sleeping DEEPLY, I no longer have a horrible dental odor after a few hours without brushing my teeth, my facial swelling has decreased significantly, my facial skin is SO much softer, and most importantly, my pH has been in the healthy range of 6.4-7.0 much more consistently 🙂

It will be a consistent toggle of maintaining a healthy pH until I have the final tooth removed.

4 Weeks Post Extraction!

It’s officially been one month post dental extractions, and I am still feeling great! My menstrual cycles have began their recalibration cycle. This was to be expected, and I couldn’t be happier. My menstrual cycles are assisting my body to purge the infection that’ve been hiding in my body for years, and I’ll be honest and say that there have been some trying moments in these times.

If this is too much information for you, I apologize. Anything health is fascinating to me, and I don’t have any shame in sharing my experience.

In the past month since the removal, I’ve effortlessly lost 10lbs, which I will attribute to water retention from being inflamed from infection. Thank goodness for coffee enemas and their ability to assist the lymphatic system 🙂

Needless to say, there has been great improvement!

Since the tissue has about 15% left to close up completely, I am no longer having food pocket into the gum area which means I am no longer allowing food to rot in the mouth and go into the blood stream!

Just THIS amount of alleviated stress has made a dramatic impact in my state of mind and subconscious stress level.

I am sleeping so deeply, which I will also contribute to having all of my silver fillings removed prior to the dental extractions.

Next, I have one more tooth to go, & I will definitely be sharing my dental journey with you when the time comes to get the job done!

Through this entire process of post surgery, I have been also using an infrared cold laser to target the bone and bacteria at specific light spectrum.
