Ladies and Gents, have you been thirsting for that inner Latin flame? | The Latin Torch

I decided to take some time to fast with liquids as a way to allow my body to alkalize, “clean house”, rejuvenate, and gain some clarity in aspects of life.

I had intended on using the traditional lemon, cayenne pepper, maple syrup cleanse (replacing the maple syrup with raw honey), but came to the conclusion that I’d welcome other fresh flavors 🙂

Decided to add a couple strawberries for texture, and bee pollen for more B vitamins, complete protein, rejuvenation properties, and intestinal regulation.

Needless to say, the first name that came to mind was “The Latin Torch.”

Reason being, it’s red and fiery as most of us Latins are notorious for… along with a subtle torching of the mouth and lips from cayenne 🙂

What makes cayenne an incredible pepper?

Men, here ya go!

Capsaicin led 80 percent of human prostate cancer cells growing in mice to commit suicide in a process known as apoptosis, the researchers said. Prostate cancer tumors in mice fed capsaicin were about one-fifth the size of tumors in untreated mice, they reported in the journal Cancer Research. ‘Capsaicin had a profound anti-proliferative effect on human prostate cancer cells in culture,’ said Dr. Soren Lehmann of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine.

Ladies, it’s your turn to burn!

In addition to acting as an appetite suppressant, red pepper seems to increase the number of calories burned, particularly after high-fat meals. This is because capsaicin is a thermogenic agent, meaning it increases metabolic activity that results in calories and fat being burned. Several popular fat-burners on the market contain capsaicin.

To name a few of its excellent remedy supports…

  • Stomach tissue repair
  • Blood pressure normalization
  • Circulatory health
  • Hair growth
  • Feeds the cell structure of capillaries, veins, arteries
  • Greatly improves prostate health, according to studies
  • Topical dental support (If you can handle the fire!)
  • Bowel stimulant
  • Food for the kidneys, spleen, and pancreas

32 ounces purified water

1 Large lemon

1 tablespoon raw honey

1-1.5 tsp Cayenne pepper

2-3 strawberries

1 tsp bee pollen

Cut lemon in half and with your knife, remove the yellow from the peel. Leave the white from the pith because its rich in bioflavonoids!

Make sure strawberries washed, clean, and tops are removed 🙂

Toss your lemon into the blender with honey, cayenne, bee pollen, strawberries, and add water.Image

Blend at full speed, then done!

If it turns out to be slightly in between the consistency of water and smoothie, then add more water. The key is to keep this as fluid as possible 🙂

If too hot to handle, add more lemon, honey, or even an extra strawberry.

Pour into mason jar, drink up, enjoy, and feel the fiyaaaaa!
